Semi and Dump Truck Collide on Hwy. 40

Damages are estimated at $75,000 after a tractor trailer dumped a big load on Hwy. 40 after colliding with a garbage truck Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened just before 3pm at the intersection of Communication Rd and Horton Line. Officers added the semi-truck was carrying sand, which spilled onto the highway closing the road for a few hours. No injuries were reported.

Police are still investigating.

Stolen Boat and Motor from Wallaceburg

Police are looking for one or more suspects after a boat and motor were allegedly stolen in Wallaceburg.

Officers said the incident happened Tuesday between 11:30am and 7pm on McKee Rd. in Wallaceburg.

Police described the boat as a Polar Kraft 14 ft aluminum boat with green lettering and the motor as a grey, white and red 9.9 HP Yamaha. The release estimated the total value at $1,500.

Break and Enter in Chatham

Saddles and an air conditioner were reportedly stolen in the middle of a heat wave in Chatham.

Police said an unknown amount of suspects allegedly entered a residence on Countryview Rd. in Chatham on Tuesday between 6am and 10am. Officers added the break-in caused $300 in damage and once inside the residence allegedly removed saddles and a portable air conditioner valued at $2,500.
