A new upscale nail and skin care salon is officially open for business in Chatham.
A local resident and president of Fantasy Nails Plus, Minh Dinh, says this new salon was possible thanks to the help from the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre and Chatham-Kent Economic Development.
"[About] a year ago I went around Chatham-Kent and even Windsor, and I saw that we didn't have anything on the upper end," he says. "I gathered all the information, did the planning, drew up a business plan... eight months ago it was just a vision and now it's a reality. I'm pretty happy with the nail salon."
"I'm looking forward to [providing] the very best service in the nail business in Chatham-Kent," he says.
The salon offers a variety of services but Dinh says there are a couple of aspects that set them apart from other nail salons in the community; for example, their high-quality products and attention to detail.
"I bought top-notch nail polish, bio-gel nails, and dipping powders," he says. "On top of that, I sent my nail technicians to Toronto for training so they could be up to date with the highest skills available."
Depending on demand, there is potential for new hires. The grand opening is on Saturday. Dinh says refreshments will be available and the doors will be open for anyone who wants to take a look around and ask questions.
“We have been so happy to work with Fantasy Nails Plus and help them before and following the Starter Company Plus Program,” says Rosemarie Montgomery, a business consultant with the Small Business Centre in a statement. “They crafted an excellent business plan and worked through all of the steps in the program, so it was an easy decision to provide them with a grant for $3,500.”
In order to attract clients and celebrate their grand opening, Fantasy Nails Plus is holding a customer appreciation sale.
Dinh says they will be giving 20% off for the first three weeks they are open. They will also be giving their customers coupons for a second visit. The nail salon is located on St. Clair St. in Chatham. More details can be found on their Facebook page.
