Maroons Hold Main Camp This Weekend

A few roster spots are still up for grabs as the Chatham Maroons gear up for their main training camp this weekend.

Maroons head coach Kyle Makaric says he expects to see a good mix of veteran leaders and young talent.

"We've got a great scenario here with the older guys leading the way for our younger guys," says Makaric. "We've also got a great crop of 2001-borns and 2000-borns who will lead us into the future."

Makaric says while the Maroons are still looking to fill a couple of spots on forward and defence, they have two solid goaltenders locked up in Tristan Lewis and Adam Harris.

"They're both super-talented goaltenders and they really care about their position and they always want to master their craft," says Makaric. "I think when you have guys like that who compete like that all the time, the forwards and defenders feed off that."

Maroons' camp runs from 9am-12pm and from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sunday, Aug. 19.
