Man Found With Knife And Meth In Pants

A man was caught with more than just a knife in his pants and he certainly wasn't happy to see the police.

According to a release from Chatham-Kent police, the Chatham man was released from court Tuesday with conditions to stay at a specific residence in Chatham and obey a daily curfew.

Police said they found out he was not living at the court ordered address and was breaking his curfew.

Officers found him Thursday allegedly with a knife and baggies of crystal methamphetamine concealed in his pants. Police said he was bound by conditions to not possess any weapons.

According to the release he was charged with failing to comply, being in possession of a prohibited weapon, breach of probation, carrying a concealed weapon and possession for the purposes of trafficking.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Domestic Disturbance Leads to Charges

A man ordered not to associate with a specific woman was allegedly found hiding behind one of her bedroom doors after police responded to a domestic disturbance Thursday night.

The man was released from custody on July 16, with conditions not to communicate with a specific woman or attend her home in Chatham. The woman was also released from custody with conditions not to communicate with the man.

After responding to a domestic disturbance at the woman’s residence Thursday,  officers said they found the man hiding behind a bedroom door and arrested him.

The 25-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with two counts of failing to comply and two counts of breaching his peace bond.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The 20-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested and charged with failing to comply. She was released pending a future court date of Sep. 5.

Woman Assaults Man And Damages His Truck

An argument between a man and a woman certainly escalated quickly Wednesday night.

Police said the two got into a verbal argument, which turned physical at a residence on Charing Cross Rd. The woman allegedly assaulted the man and then damaged his truck with a lawn chair then fled the scene before officers arrived.

The 36-year-old Harwich Township woman was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000 Thursday morning.

She was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with being Intoxicated in a Public Place

Police found an man who was allegedly intoxicated on Michener Rd. in Chatham. Officers said the 56-year-old was taken into custody for his own safety and will be released when sober.
