WAMBO Celebrates 30 Years

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing is celebrating 30 years this weekend.

The annual events kicks off Friday with the opening ceremonies and car cruise at 5pm, then wraps up on Sunday.

WAMBO Treasurer Paul Dineno says they've made some changes this year and added more live music.

"We're looking forward to some great entertainment , we're looking forward to good weather, and lots of boats, lots of cars, and lost of patrons."

Dineno says the classic boats on display is what sets them apart from other events.

"As manager I get to make this choice, have boats that are 25 years or older in a classic class. If you're newer than that you're just kind of a spectator , and you're lined up against the seawall and people get to walk and look inside your boat."

Plus, they are stretching the fun into Sunday with a mini-garden tractor pull.

"Normally Sunday is just a teardown day, and the downtown is kind of dead," says Dineno. "So this is going to bring some people in from throughout Ontario, some major organizations are participating. We expect somewhere between 45 and 60 tractors."
