Three people have been charged after Chatham-Kent police seized powdered fentanyl during a drug investigation.
In an effort to remove dangerous opioids from the area, police say officers "conducted surveillance" on Wednesday. Officers say a Chatham man went to two locations, allegedly trafficking fentanyl to two other people. All three were then arrested and charged.
A 24-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man and a 31-year-old Chatham woman are both charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Officers say the 3.5g of powdered fentanyl seized is worth about $1,500. Police also seized an undisclosed amount of cash.
