A 39-year-old Ridgetown man is learning the hard way that it's not cool to leave your dog in a hot vehicle.
Chatham-Kent police say at around 1pm Thursday, they rescued a boxer-type dog from a hot, unlocked truck that was parked outside of the Chatham-Kent Courthouse on Grand Ave.
Officers were able to remove the dog from the vehicle and cooled it off in a nearby creek.
The dog's owner was issued a $365 ticket.
