Two Out-Of-Town Arrests

Chatham-Kent police got a little help from their colleagues in St. Thomas and Stratford early Tuesday morning.

CK police say officers in St. Thomas arrested a 33-year-old man who was wanted in Chatham-Kent for fraud-related offences, failing to comply with his release conditions, and breach of probation.

In a separate incident, police in Stratford arrested an 18-year-old woman who was wanted by Chatham-Kent police for failing to comply and failing to attend court.

Both of the accused are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Teen Charged With Assault

A 14-year-old boy is facing charges and police are still looking for a second teen after an assault in Chatham.

Police say two youths allegedly assaulted another youth in Chatham at around 6pm Monday. Officers say all three of the youths know each other.

The teen who was arrested in connection with the investigation is charged with assault and failing to comply with his release conditions.

Clothing Stolen From Walmart

Chatham-Kent police say a 28-year-old man is charged with theft and possession of stolen property in connection with a shoplifting incident in Chatham.

Police say the man is accused of walking into the Walmart in the city's north end just before 7pm Monday and filling a duffle bag with about $68 worth of clothing before walking out of the store without making an attempt to pay for it.

Officers say when a store security officer approached the man, he dropped the bag and took off.

Police say they were able to track down a suspect and took him into custody.

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

----------- Police Find Drugs During Traffic Stop

A 29-year-old woman who had been ordered to stay at home is in trouble with police after officers allegedly found her driving around in Wallaceburg.

Police say an officer pulled the woman over early Tuesday morning and arrested her.

Officers allege they also found some hydromorphone on the woman at the time.

She's now charged with one count of drug possession and two counts of failing to comply with her conditional sentence and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Truck Reported Stolen In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a white 2016 Toyota Tacoma that was reported stolen from an unlocked garage on Aspen Cres. in Chatham.

Police say it was taken sometime either late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
