Trio Charged With Break And Enter

Chatham-Kent police say three people are facing charges in connection with a break-in at a home on Given Rd. in Chatham over the weekend.

Officers say the incident happened Saturday morning, adding that through their investigation, they were able to identify three suspects.

Police arrested a 34-year-old Chatham man Saturday afternoon in connection with the case. They also picked up two more people, a 40-year-old Chatham man and a 37-year-old Chatham woman, Sunday afternoon and charged all three of the accused with break and enter and possession of stolen property.

They're all being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen E-Bike Recovered

A 29-year-old Chatham man is in trouble with police after officers allegedly found him with a stolen e-bike Sunday night.

Police say the bike was reported stolen from a residence on Harvey St. in Chatham over the weekend and had a personalized Florida licence plate.

Officers say the recovered e-bike has been returned to its owner and the man who was reportedly found with it is now charged with possession of stolen property.

He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Facebook Message Leads To Arrest

No communication means absolutely no communication.

Chatham-Kent police say a 19-year-old Chatham man is finding that out the hard way after he allegedly sent a Facebook message to a woman he had been ordered not to communicate with.

Police say he was arrested last night and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Breaching Release Conditions With A Hammer

A 35-year-old Chatham woman is back in police custody after she allegedly tried to open a mailbox in Wallaceburg with a hammer.

Police say the woman was released with conditions on July 16, one of which was that she was supposed to stay at least 50m away from a specific address on Reaume Ave. in Wallaceburg.

Officers say the woman was allegedly spotted on that property Sunday night, trying to access a mailbox with a hammer.

She was arrested and charged with failing to comply.
