A Chatham man is in trouble with the law after police allegedly found drugs on him during his arrest.

Police went to a Park Ave. E business on Saturday in response to a call of bail violations from the London Police Service.

A 48-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. While being searched, he was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance that he did not have a valid prescription for.

The man was arrested for this charge and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to be held for a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent police are looking for information about a couple break and enters that happened over the weekend.

Police say on Saturday, officers responded to a break and enter in the area of Erie St. S in Ridgetown. Sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) broke into the caller’s shed at the corner of his property and stole a yellow and black electrical generator.

On the same day, police went to the area of Creek Rd. in Chatham in response to a call of a break and enter. A red Canadian Tire brand canoe was stolen. Locks and doors were also damaged.
