A Walpole Island man facing multiple charges has been arrested.

Police say a man wanted on numerous warrants held by the Chatham-Kent Police Service was located on Walpole Island by the Walpole Island Police Service Friday night. He was arrested and then turned over to Chatham-Kent police.

A 19-year-old Walpole Island man has been charged with break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, failure to comply with recognizance, obstructing police, and two counts of failure to attend court.

He has been released from custody with a future court date.

Police say a few vehicles were broken into in Chatham over the past couple days.

Sometime Thursday night, police say a vehicle parked at a residence on Queen St. in Chatham was entered. An unknown suspect stole a number of items from the vehicle, including identification from Luxembourg and Portugal.

Police say on Friday night, a vehicle parked on Grand Ave. E in Chatham had one of its windows broken. An unknown suspect also stole the victim’s wallet from inside of the vehicle.

Police are looking for information after a chainsaw was stolen from a Chatham garage.

Sometime between Tuesday and Friday, unknown suspects entered a garage on McNaughton Ave. E in Chatham. A model 442 Husqvarna chainsaw, valued at approximately $550, was stolen.
