Man Hides In Dryer, Woman Spits On Police

A 38-year-old Tilbury woman is in trouble with the law after police allege she kicked an officer and spit in his face -- all after calling 911.

Police say the woman called the emergency hotline Sunday night to report that a man who was ordered by the court not to communicate with her was threatening her.

When officers arrived, they allegedly saw the man and the woman inside, so they went inside to make sure the woman was safe.

At that time, the woman allegedly told police that the man wasn't home, but they reportedly found him hiding in a dryer in the basement.

Police say a 37-year-old Comber man is now charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Officers also arrested a 38-year-old Tilbury woman at the home and charged her with facilitating a breach of conditions. During that arrest, the woman allegedly assaulted an officer by kicking him and spitting on him. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.
