Air Quality Taking A Hit In Hot, Humid Weather

It may be a good idea to spend the day indoors-- Environment Canada says high levels of air pollution are expected in Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex on Sunday.

A smog and air health advisory in currently in effect for the two areas.

The weather agency says hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations Sunday afternoon. High risk air quality health index (AQHI) values are expected Sunday afternoon and early evening.

People may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches, or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.
