Boat Motor, Chainsaw Targeted During Break-In

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to solve a break-in at a shed in Wallaceburg.

Police say officers responded to the call on Wednesday and learned that someone had broken into a shed in the Snye Rd. area and stole a boat motor, a chainsaw, and multiple fishing rods.

Tools Stolen From Utility Trailer

Police are looking for two male suspects who are believed to be in their 30s after some tools were stolen from a utility trailer on Byng Ave. in Chatham.

Investigators say security video footage shows the tools were taken at approximately 8pm Tuesday.

The stolen goods have a combined estimated value of $15,000.

Tax Scam Warning

Chatham-Kent police are issuing another reminder to the public not to fall victim to scammers who call you and claim to be with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Officers say they are issuing the warning because they still getting calls from local residents about the scam.

Police say scammers may use threatening language or an aggressive tone in order to scare you into making payments, but they're also reminding you that personal or financial information should never be given over the phone, especially if you didn’t initiate the call.
