Out Past Curfew

Chatham-Kent police say a noise complaint tipped them off about a 29-year-old man who was out past his court-imposed curfew.

Police say they got a call from someone at an apartment building in Blenheim at around 7:30pm Sunday and when officers arrived to investigate, they found out the man who was in the apartment at the centre of the complaint was out with his girlfriend.

Officers say the pair didn't return until about 2am, even though the man was previously ordered to obey a daily curfew of 10pm to 7am.

He was arrested, charged with two counts of failing to comply, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police Find Syringes During Search

Chatham-Kent police say a 47-year-old Chatham woman is in some more trouble after officers found some syringes and some Narcan nasal spray on her.

Police say that's violation of her release conditions, which require her not to possess any drug paraphernalia.

Officers say the woman was also out past her curfew when they found her in the passenger seat of a suspicious vehicle they stopped on Park St. in Chatham at around 1am Monday.

She's charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Drunk In Public

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman spent the night in police custody after she allegedly got too drunk to care for herself.

Police say they picked her up at a business in Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg Sunday night after getting a call from someone there.

She's charged with being intoxicated in a public place and was expected to be released once she sobered up.

Drunk While Driving

Chatham-Kent police say they pulled a 39-year-old Tilbury woman off the road late Sunday night after seeing a vehicle driving erratically on Queens Line.

Officers say the driver was spotted swerving within her lane, braking unnecessarily, and continuously changing speeds.

Police pulled her over and then took her back to police headquarters after suspecting that she had been drinking alcohol.

She allegedly refused to provide suitable breath samples once she got to the police station, though, and was later charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample.

Police say she was also expected to be released once she sobered up.

Officers suspected the driver of drinking alcohol and took him into custody for testing. The 25-year-old is now charged with driving a vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood.
