Man Charged With Assault 

A 37-year-old male from Chatham is charged with assault after a domestic disturbance Monday afternoon in Chatham.

Police aren't releasing any more details about the incident, though.

Officers said the man was released pending a future court date of July 10.

Man Charged With Uttering Threats

Police said they made an arrest after responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment in Chatham Sunday night.

According to officers, the man left prior to police arrival, however, he was arrested Monday and charged with uttering threats and two counts of assault

Police said the 19-year-old Chatham man was released pending a future court date of July 10.

Man On Wanted List Arrested

Chatham-Kent police say they have picked up a man who was wanted for skipping a court date and failing to show up for a fingerprinting appointment.

According to police, the man was charged with three counts of drug possession dating back to May 6, 2018 and was released pending a future court date -- but officers say he never showed up.

According to a release, officers observed the man walking in the area of St. Clair St. and McNaughton Ave. at 5am Tuesday morning.

Police said the 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the outstanding warrant and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Multiple TV's Stolen During Two Break And Enters

Police say the first break-in occurred Monday between 9am and 3pm.

Officers added one or more suspects broke into a residence on Pioneer Line, causing approximately $5,000 damage.

According to police, a 60 inch Sharp TV, a 51 inch Samsung TV, a 42 inch TV, a 32 inch TV, an iPad mini with red and black case, an iPad mini with sparkles in case, an iPad 2, some speakers, some receivers and amplifiers, and some jewelry were stolen. The total value was estimated at $20,000

In a separate incident in Wallaceburg, a 42 inch Samsung TV and a 56 inch Samsung TV were stolen.

According to police, the incident took place between last Thursday and Monday night at 8pm. Officers said the total value of the TV's is $2,000.

Anyone with information on these thefts is asked to contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Multiple Monday Stunt Driving Charges

A 24-year-old Petrolia man is charged with speeding and stunt driving after police reportedly recorded a vehicle travelling 134 km/h on Wheatley Rd. near Goudreau Line.

That road has a posted speed limit of 80 km/h.

Officers the man's driver's license has been suspended, his vehicle has been impounded for a week and he is required to attend Provincial Offences Court on August 22.

In a separate incident Monday afternoon, another driver was clocked going 130 km/h on Talbot Tr, which has a posted speed limit of 80 km/hr.

Police said a 48-year-old woman was charged with speeding and stunt driving and will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court at a later date.

Her licence was also seized for seven days and her vehicle has been impounded a week.
