CKHA Welcomes Two New Doctors

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is adding two more doctors to its team.

As stated in a media release from the CKHA, the hospital recently hired Dr. Sharareh Shokri as a hospitalist and Dr. Asim Nimir as a physician in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Shokri received her doctorate of medicine from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. When she moved to Canada, Dr. Shokri studied at the University of Toronto and then worked in hospitals across Ontario.

"I'm excited to be part of the team at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance," she said in a statement. "I look forward to serving the community of Chatham-Kent with compassion and care to the best of my abilities."

Meanwhile, Dr. Asim Nimir started his career by earning a medical degree from the University of Khartoum in 1974.

He studied and worked in Sudan and the United Kingdom for several years before moving to Canada. He went on to complete the International Medical Graduate Program at McMaster University and was a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Physicians of Canada. Since then, Dr. Nimir has worked in and outside of Canada.

"I look forward to joining the excellent team of physicians at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and to providing the utmost quality of care that we can offer to the community while I establish my practice," said Dr. Nimir. "I hope to serve this community with dedication and love even after my retirement."

Both doctors Shokri and Nimir started working at the CKHA at the beginning of June.
