Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a fire caused damage to a Wallaceburg residence.

Police received reports of a fire at a residence on Book St. in Wallaceburg just before 5am on Saturday.

According to police, minor structural damage was caused to the residence, totaling about $2,000.

The investigation is on-going.

Police say a man is recovering in hospital after being assaulted in Wallaceburg.

According to police, a man in Wallaceburg was assaulted by two other men Friday morning.

The two men are in custody and have been charged. The victim is recovering in hospital.

Police say the investigation is on-going.

Two break and enters are being investigated in Chatham-Kent.

Sometime overnight on Thursday, unknown suspects went into a shed on Tweedsmuir Ave. W in Chatham. The suspects stole an air compressor and a tool bag.

Then sometime on Friday, suspects forced open the patio door of a home on University Ave. in Wallaceburg and rummaged through the home.
