NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says Ontario's premier is "playing a very dangerous game" by conceding right before the election.
Horwath made a campaign stop at Chatham-Kent-Leamington NDP Candidate Jordan McGrail's campaign office in Chatham Monday afternoon.
The NDP leader says there's no doubt that it was probably a difficult moment for Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne to admit that she wasn't going to be reelected, but thinks she is "playing a very dangerous game."
"Where she says that her priority is to make sure that Doug Ford is held in check after election day, my priority is to make sure that Doug Ford is defeated on election day," she says.
Horwath thinks Wynne is "missing the point" when she criticizes the idea of a PC or NDP majority and encourages people to support Liberal candidates.
"What she's forgetting is that people have already decided that they don't want her to wield the power at Queen's Park and yet, that's exactly what she's trying to convince people what needs to happen," says Horwath. "People want change."
Horwath also criticized how PC Leader Doug Ford has been running his campaign. She says it is disappointing to see him play "hide and seek" with the media and voters.
"He's got more accusations that are coming forward around his candidates. There are questions about 407 data that are still unanswered," she says. "There are police investigations into ballot box stuffing and vote rigging that Mr. Ford hasn't spoken about or answered to."
Horwath says all these things raise a lot of concerns and issues for people hitting the polls on Thursday.
