Investigation Continues After Serious Crash In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police say a 63-year-old woman is being treated for serious injuries in a London hospital after she was hit by a vehicle on McNaughton Ave. in Chatham.

Police say the woman was walking along the sidewalk near the Nortown Plaza at around 8am Monday when she was hit by a vehicle that was coming out of the parking lot there.

Officers say the woman was rushed to the hospital in Chatham first, then transferred to a hospital in London for further treatment.

Police say the 79-year-old Chatham man who was driving the vehicle wasn't hurt and there is no word yet on whether charges will be laid in connection with the incident.

The CKPS Traffic Unit is still investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Dan Clark at danielc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
