A Chatham man has been charged for impaired driving after getting caught driving erratically.

Police responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically towards Charing Cross on Saturday at around 2am.

Officers in the area were able to find and stop the vehicle. Police believed that the 46-year-old Chatham man was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests. He was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit and later released from custody with a future court date.

A London man had his vehicle towed away after driving without insurance or a permit in Chatham-Kent.

On Sunday, May 20 at around 11:30am, a Chatham-Kent OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 401 near Merlin Rd.

While speaking with the driver, the officer discovered that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and the validation permit was expired.

A 31-year-old London man was charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance and driving a motor vehicle without a valid permit. The man's vehicle was towed.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a shed was broken into in Wallaceburg.

Police responded to a report of a break and enter on Friday on Bluewater Line in Wallaceburg. Sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) broke into the locked shed and stole kayak paddles and exterior lighting.
