An intoxicated Chatham man was found hiding from police behind a dumpster.

Police say on March 3, 2016, a man was given a probation order with several conditions. One of those conditions was to obey a daily curfew of 11pm to 7am.

On Wednesday just before 4am, an officer on general patrol noticed two people walking in the area of Queen St. and Lorne Ave. in Chatham. When the pair saw the cruiser, they ran down an alleyway.

Officers searched the area and found one of them hiding behind a dumpster on Dufferin Ave.

A 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with breaching probation. He will be released when sober pending a future court date.

A Chatham woman has turned herself in after fleeing from a police officer.

Police say on February 28, a woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions was to not communicate with a specific man.

On March 15, an officer on general patrol noticed the man and woman together in a vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle. Police say the man was arrested for failing to comply because he was also on conditions not to communicate with the woman.

According to police, the woman drove away before the officer could arrest her.

Police say a 38-year-old woman from Chatham went to police headquarters Tuesday night and turned herself in.

She has been charged with failing to comply and was released with conditions pending a future court date of May 29.

A Chatham man has been arrested after kicking a woman’s car in the heat of a fight.

Police say a man and woman got into a verbal argument while driving around Chatham Tuesday afternoon.

When the man was taken home, he got out of the woman’s vehicle and allegedly kicked the passenger side door causing damage.

A 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of May 29.

Chatham-Kent police say a man is facing charges after visiting a woman he was banned from seeing.

On March 2, police say a man was given a probation order with several conditions. One of those conditions was that he cannot communicate with a specific Chatham woman.

Police discovered on Tuesday that the man went to the woman’s residence over the weekend. On Sunday, the man allegedly damaged her patio doors and assaulted her daughter while trying to get into the house.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, mischief under $5,000, and breach of probation Tuesday night. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
