Assault Charges

A 34-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of assault following a domestic disturbance.

Police say a woman was assaulted by her husband during a verbal argument Tuesday night.

Stunt Driving

Chatham-Kent OPP have busted another Toronto area speeder on Hwy. 401.

Police say, on Monday night, an officer spotted an eastbound vehicle doing more than 150 km/h in the construction zone of the 401 near Duart Rd.

The 25-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with racing a motor vehicle and speeding.

His driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for seven days.

Stolen Truck Found

Two youths have been charged after a truck was reported stolen in Tilbury Thursday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say a 2017 silver Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from a parking lot on Queen St. N. An hour later, officers spotted the truck in the area of St. Clair St. in Chatham and arrested four people during a high risk stop.

A 17-year-old female from Chatham and an 18-year-old Tilbury man have been charged with theft over $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000.

A female youth and an adult man were released unconditionally.
