A Chatham man accused of assaulting and threatening his girlfriend has been arrested.

Police say on Saturday at around 9pm, a man and his girlfriend were inside their shared residence in Chatham when they became involved in a heated argument.

According to police, the man caused an injury to the woman’s arm and then threatened her.

Police were called and the woman received medical treatment from EMS.

Through investigation, police discovered that a separate assault had occurred last year.

A 57-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and two counts of assault.

He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.

A Chatham man has been arrested after police say he failed to obey his conditions and tried to steal from Walmart.

Police say in February, a man was released from police custody with conditions. Two of those conditions were to remain inside his residence at all times and not communicate in any way with a specific woman.

On Saturday at around 5pm, the man was seen inside Walmart in Chatham with the woman.

Police were called and an officer arrested the man.

According to police, stolen items from Walmart were also hidden in the man’s clothing.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested for two counts of failing to comply.

He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.

A Chatham man wanted on a warrant has been arrested.

Police say on Friday at 8:30pm, a 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court.

The man was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and later released with a future court date in May.
