Wallaceburg House Fire Causes $250K In Damages

The damages are estimated at $250,000 after a house fire on Highbury Cres. in Wallaceburg.

No injuries were reported.

Career and volunteer firefighters from Wallaceburg and Chatham were called to the scene at around 9pm Tuesday while they were already responding to a separate vehicle fire on King St.

Police and EMS personnel also attended the scene on Highbury Cres.

A release from CK Fire and Emergency Services says the firefighters "completed an offensive attack, protecting surrounding homes from the large flames and extinguishing the fire."

The cause of the fire is still undetermined and the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management has been called in to help with the investigation.

According to Constable Sherri Keller, the house fire has been deemed not suspicious.
