CK Constable Nominated For Hero Of The Year Award

A police officer is being recognized for her good deeds in the Chatham-Kent community.

Chatham-Kent Police Service Constable Amy Finn has been nominated for the 2018 Police Association of Ontario (PAO) Police Services Hero of the Year Award.

Finn says she was nominated last year as well and was one of the top three at the ceremony in London.

She says it feels good to be nominated again.

"It's just an honour to be nominated and to know that just one person can make a difference in a community," she says. "It's nice to know that your little things in life don't go unnoticed."

"It feels good to know that you've helped somebody...that you've made a difference in somebody's life," she says.

Finn has been working in the service for the past 30 years.

"It's been interesting. There has been good and bad times -- never a dull moment any day of the week," she says. "My mother made sure I had the right choice of employment."

The award will be announced at the PAO's Annual General Meeting in London during the week of May 7.
