Police Briefs – Wednesday February 21, 2018

A 35-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly breaking a stolen Bluetooth speaker.

Police say a man went into Absolute Sound in Chatham on Tuesday. It’s alleged the man shoved a $220 portable speaker into his pants and left the store without paying.

Officers later found the man on King St., however, during the arrest, police say the man smashed the speaker on the pavement.

He has since been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000.

An argument between two co-workers took a nasty turn Tuesday afternoon.

Police say two men started fighting at a business on Richmond St. in Chatham, which resulted in some property damage.

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with and mischief under $5,000. He will have to go to court March 13.

Police have tracked down a suspect on their “Wanted List”.

In December 2017, a couple of warrants had been issued for a 46-year-old Windsor man regarding a break-in and an assault.

Police say the Windsor man was picked up Tuesday night on outstanding warrants. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

A 20-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing a couple of charges after she allegedly broke her release conditions.

Police say the woman was released from custody February 11, with several conditions — two of which involved staying away from a particular man and where he lives.

Officers allegedly found the woman at the man’s home Tuesday night. She was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply.

A 24-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with failing to comply.

Police say the man failed to attend a program on February 20, which had been part of his previous release conditions.

The Blenheim man was arrested Tuesday night and held in custody for a bail hearing.
