Chatham-Kent police are looking for information after power tools were stolen from a house.

Police say on Friday, officers responded to a break and enter at a residence on Hickoryoak Lane in Romney Township for a break and enter.

According to police, the house was under construction and the contractor arrived to do some work. However, he discovered that someone had entered the house and stolen a number of power tools and other construction equipment.

The total value of the stolen items is $6,000.

Police say the break in likely occurred between Wednesday and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Pete Baker at peteb@chatham-kent.ca. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

A Wallaceburg man is facing charges after allegedly threatening a woman.

Police say on Tuesday, a Wallaceburg woman reported that she was being threatened by a man. The woman claimed that a man she knows threatened to harm her on two separate occasions both in the summer of 2017 and on Sunday.

The incident was investigated and a 59-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats.

He was later released with a future court date of March 7.
