Wanted Man Arrested During Traffic Stop

Chatham-Kent police say they have arrested a 37-year-old man who was wanted for stealing a motor vehicle.

Police say they found the man in the passenger seat of a vehicle they pulled over on William St. in Chatham Thursday afternoon.

After arresting the man, police say they found some hydromorphone on him along with some stolen property that has been linked to a break-in earlier this week on Harwich Rd.

The accused has been taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen Pickup Truck Found In Chatham

Police are appealing to the public for tips as they continue to investigate a pickup truck theft in Chatham.

Officers say a beige 2005 Toyota Tundra was stolen from a driveway on Croydon St. sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday morning.

Police say it turned up on Phyllis Ave. in Chatham this morning, but officers are still investigating the case.

Drunk Wallaceburg Teen Caught Trespassing

Chatham-Kent police say a 17-year-old Wallaceburg youth is in trouble with the law after officers got a call about a possible break-in at just after 1am Friday.

Police say while they were responding to that call, they found the youth on Duke St. near Albert St. and arrested him.

He was charged with trespassing and being intoxicated in a public place and released to a parent.
