Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a robbery at a Wallaceburg convenience store.

A man went into the Mac’s Milk on McNaughton Ave. Monday around 8:30am. Police say the suspect showed a weapon and demanded cash from the clerk.

The employee wasn’t hurt but the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male suspect is described as having a medium build, 5’7″ tall, and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with dark sleeves, and blue jeans.

A traffic stop in Chatham has resulted in a drug bust.

Police say they seized about $2,600 worth of drugs after officers stopped a vehicle on King St. W Monday afternoon.

The driver, a 60-year-old Chatham man, was allegedly found with methamphetamine, a metal pipe, a homemade baton, and mace. He was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, failing to comply with his prohibition, and possession for the purposes of trafficking.

His passenger, a 36-year-old Chatham man, was also charged with failing to comply and possession for the purposes of trafficking. It’s alleged the passenger was found with suspected heroin.

Both men were held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police are investigating after a couple of bags were swiped at the Via Rail station in Chatham.

Constable Renee Cowell says on February 3, officers responded to the Chatham train station over a theft complaint. According to police, a woman left the train with two suitcases, belonging to two different passengers.

The woman is described as white, about 5’4”, with a thin build and blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a blue and black pattern coat and dark pants.
