No Race-Fixing In Dresden Or Leamington

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has found no evidence to substantiate race-fixing allegations in Dresden and Leamington.

AGCO spokesperson Ray Kahnert says an investigation began late in the fall after a member of the public complained about the integrity of harness horse racing at the Leamington and Dresden racetracks. Kahnert says a thorough investigation wrapped up this week and concluded there's no evidence to support the allegations but can't say anymore.

He says the AGCO has an established policy on complaints and that is “all complaints and inquiries are kept confidential.”

The AGCO regulates horse racing in Ontario and has a mandate to protect the public interest and maintain the fairness and integrity of horse racing.

The AGCO encourages anyone with information or concerns about horse racing to call 519-668-7558 or 1-800-522-2876.
