Police Briefs – Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Chatham-Kent police arrested eight people on Monday and early Tuesday.

Among those arrested, a 28-year-old Morpeth man and a 32-year-old Blenheim woman are charged with failing to comply with a six-day-old court order to stay away from each other. Officers allegedly found drugs on the man and he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A 24-year-old Chatham woman and a 48-year-old Wallaceburg man are charged with theft after $1,500 worth of items were stolen from the Shoppers Drug Mart on Grand Ave. W in Chatham January 21.

A 29-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply with a court order directing him to sign up at an organization that offers programs for people who have been criminally charged.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is on the lookout for a Honda Generator and a propane heater.

They say someone broke into a construction site at the mausoleum building in the Wallaceburg cemetery on January 18.

Extension cords, diesel and gas fuel cans have also been reported stolen. The estimated value of the items stolen is around $4,500.
