Police Briefs – Monday January 8, 2018

Police are looking for three suspects who stole over $700 worth of merchandise from a Chatham store.

On Wednesday, January 3, police say the group left Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen St. around 9:30 pm without paying for a shopping basket full of items.

Anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

A Tilbury man is facing a few assault charges.

Over the weekend, officers were told about alleged incidents that happened between 2010 and 2017.

Police say a 34-year-old man was allegedly physically abusive towards a woman he knew.

Following an investigation, the man was arrested and charged with six counts of assault and mischief.

A 28-year-old London man found in Ridgetown has been charged with failing to comply.

Police say the London resident was released from custody in June 2017 with certain conditions. He was scheduled to go to court in October but he allegedly didn’t show up.

Officers were able to find the man in Ridgetown Sunday around 4:30pm and arrested him on a warrant.

A Chatham man is in trouble with police for being out past his curfew.

Police say a 26-year-old man was ordered to stay home between 9pm and 8am.

Officers say the man was spotted driving in Chatham around 3:49am Monday. As a result, he was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

A 26-year-old Thamesville man has turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police say the man was released from custody in April with the condition to stay home from 7pm to 7am.

Officers say he wasn’t home on December 30 at 9pm so a warrant was issued.

The Thamesville man was arrested Sunday night and charged with failing to comply.
