Chatham-Kent police arrested a man for impaired driving on New Year’s Eve.

Police say on Sunday just after 9pm, an officer patrolling the area of Park Ave. E in Chatham stopped a vehicle.

While speaking with the driver, the officer came to believe that the man was impaired by alcohol and arrested him for impaired driving.

The driver was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for breath tests and later charged with the impaired driving.

The man was released with a future court date.
