Woman Suffers Smoke Inhalation From Chatham Fire

A woman has been taken to the hospital after a Chatham residence caught fire.

Chatham-Kent fire fighters responded to a structural fire at a residence at 115 West St. in Chatham on Saturday at around 8am.

Assistant Fire Chief Bob Davidson says damages are estimated at $250,000. He says about $400,000 worth of property was saved.

Davidson says one woman was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
