Christmas Spirit Alive & Well In CK

Three charities from Chatham-Kent recently received a helping hand from local realtors.

The Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors donated $1,300 and 44 bags of food to Outreach For Hunger, $2,500 to the Chatham-Kent Hospice and $1,300 to the Chatham-Kent Hope Haven.

Kristi Wiilder, outgoing association president, says local realtors have been helping Outreach For Hunger for many years.

"Outreach For Hunger, I'd say 20 plus years that we have been helping them raise food for the food drive and putting together donations for them," says Wiilder.

She says the charities must be not for profit to receive assistance from the association.

Wiilder says the Chatham-Kent Hospice and Chatham-Kent Hope Haven are new recipients this year.

"Last year we donated to the women's shelter. So, this year we thought it would be nice to donate to Hope Haven because they're geared towards men," Wiilder says. "Our Chatham-Kent realtors are very generous people. They're always willing to give and help out and are one of the community's biggest supporters."
