Leave Your Light On For The Chatham Goodfellows

Don't be surprised or alarmed if you see people wearing big red aprons going door-to-door in Chatham Monday night.

Volunteers with the Chatham Goodfellows will be making their rounds -- collecting donations of money, food, and toys for their annual Porchlight Campaign.

"Last year, we received multiple banana boxes of canned goods and toys in addition to over $40,000 of cash," says Goodfellows director Tim Mifflin.

The volunteers will be leaving from the Spirit and Life Centre in Chatham at 5:30pm Monday night.

Mifflin says the most important thing you can do if you're looking to donate, is make sure your porchlight is on, so that volunteers know they should knock on your door.

The money they collect will be used to purchase toys and food that will go out in the Goodfellows' Christmas baskets. Toy packing will take place from 6pm to 8pm from December 11 to December 14 at 463 St. Clair St.

The toys will be delivered on December 18 and the food will be packed and delivered on December 19.
