CP Holiday Train Delights Large CK Crowd

After several years of not stopping in Chatham, the CP Holiday Train thrilled the young and the young at heart on Thursday afternoon.

Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo and his band entertained the large crowd at the John Bradley Centre for about 45 minutes before leaving for Windsor for a 5:30pm appearance.

CP Rail donated $5,000 to Outreach for Hunger food bank in Chatham and the crowd donated thousands of cans to the food bank.

A lot of children attended for the first time, including 10-year-old Claire, who says it was awesome.

“I thought it was great and my favourite part was the band but I thought the lights would be brighter,” says Claire.

Olivia, 12, says she loved the holiday train band.

“I loved the music and my favourite song was probably the Run, Run Rudolph song,” she says.

The CP Holiday Train has been chugging along for 19 years to create awareness about hunger in Canada.
