Matt Lauer Fired From NBC News

NBC News has fired one of television’s highest-paid journalists amid allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.

Matt Lauer, who has co-hosted The Today Show since 1997, has been let go after he was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by a colleague at NBC.

In a written statement, NBC News Chairman Andy Lack said it is the “first complaint about [Matt Lauer’s] behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News,” but there is also “reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”

Lauer’s annual salary is estimated at $28-million US.
