Local Doctor Returns To CK For Medical Residency

A doctor who grew up in Thamesville is back in Chatham-Kent to finish up the hands-on portion of his medical training.

Dr. Robert Wismer is set to live in the area for the next two years as he works alongside local physicians at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) who will be providing support and direction for him.

A release from the CKHA says Dr. Wismer will also take some time to enjoy the outdoors while he's in the area and hopes to spend some of his free time canoeing and camping with his family.

"Chatham-Kent has always been a big part of who I am," said Dr. Wismer. "I am thrilled to be able to give something back."

Wismer went to school in Ridgetown before attending Western University where he received his Bachelors of Medical Science (Honours Physiology) in 2005. After that, he went to Flinders University of South Australia where he received a Doctor of Medicine in 2015.
