New Tim Hortons Opens In Thamesville

The Tim Hortons in Thamesville is officially open for business.

Owner Dan Gragtmans says the coffee shop's opening on Wednesday was a success.

"It's been amazing. We opened this morning at 6am and we had people banging down the door right away. Everyone was just extremely excited, just like we are, to be here," says Gragtmans.

Gragtmans says Thamesville is the perfect location for the new Tim Hortons.

"Thamesville is a great little town. We also work in Tilbury, Blenheim, and Ridgetown. We just love that small town atmosphere. It feels like family when you come in and you get to know the regulars. We're really excited to start making our mark here," he says.

He adds that he is still looking to hire many staff at the coffee shop and is still be accepting applications.

Thamesville resident Ryan Roberts is thrilled about the new coffee shop.

"It's amazing! It's so clean and you can see everything, because it's more open than other Tim Hortons... It looks like there's more space for people and ample parking too. It's also easier for me, because I'm just down the street and if I want a coffee or something it's right here for me," says Roberts.

Another Thamesville resident named Kevin also thinks the new Tim Hortons will be a great addition to the town.

"It's good for Thamesville... having a Timmies so close. I hope it doesn't hurt the little guys too much though, that's the only drawback... but for the most part it's good for the town," he says.

Councillor David VanDamme also addressed the concern of the new Tim Hortons affecting local Thamesville coffee shops in a previous Blackburn News article.
