Health Unit Offers HPV Vaccine To Men

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit is appealing to men under 26 years old to get a free HPV vaccine.

According to a media release, the HPV vaccine is given over two or three times, depending on factors such as age and medical history.

In order to be eligible for the free vaccine, the health unit says a male must complete the series before turning 27 years old.

They're reminding people that HPV is a common disease and might not even show symptoms.

"As many as seven out of ten people who have ever had sex get HPV," as stated in a media release.

For those interested in getting the vaccine, call the Sexual Health Clinic to find out if you're eligible at 519-355-1071 ext. 5901 or email cksexualhealth@chatham-kent.ca.
