New Physio Clinic In Chatham Rises Out Of The Ashes

The Chatham Physiotherapy Clinic is now open at 20 Emma St. near the hospital.

The clinic is one of the region’s only locations that accepts OHIP coverage for physiotherapy and held its grand re-opening on Thursday after being closed since a fire destroyed it one year ago.

Owner John Spirou says the new 3,000 sq ft facility offers high quality services in a state of the art facility, custom designed for the rehabilitation of patients with a variety of conditions.

Spirou says the fire was devastating but there are better days ahead for his staff and clients.

"It's really devastating losing something like that. Going through that sort of fire and trauma was devastating and makes you feel helpless," says Spirou.

The clinic offers specialized treatment programs and individualized care plans for post-surgical, chronic pain, arthritis, sports medicine, back and neck pain patients. The clinic also provides a wide assortment of rehabilitative products such as braces, orthopedic splints and medical equipment.

Spirou says it's a brand new start for the clinic after a tragic fire on November 11, 2016.

"Those times were dark but it's so nice to be here in this brand new facility. From the ashes rises the Phoenix," Spirou says.

He says he's thankful for all the thoughts and prayers from thousands of patients over the past year.

"We hope to be here for the next 20 years and we hope to serve thousands more Chatham-Kent residents and I think this clinic really speaks to the can-do type attitude we see here inside Chatham-Kent," says Spirou.
