Chatham Goodfellows Office Now Open

The Chatham Goodfellows 2017 "No Child Without a Christmas" Campaign is officially underway.

The office opened at 9am Monday, taking names for their Christmas food and toy baskets.

"What you need to tell us is your address, phone number, and the number of people in your family, and that is critical," says board member Tim Mifflin. "If you have two people you'll get a smaller box, however if you have two or more, you'll get a large box."

The Goodfellows will only take names over the phone by calling 519-354-1146. The deadline to apply is December 1, and Mifflin says they do not take any referrals.

The shoe and boot program is also back this year.

"Each child that is in need of toys, they will get a voucher for shoes or boots," says Mifflin. "We have a new partner that's working with us this year, it's Giant Tiger. So if a child is in need, they're going to get this voucher, and they simply go into Giant Tiger and they will be able to get a pair of shoes or boots."

Food and toy donations are also being accepted. For a full list of drop off locations, CLICK HERE.

Toy and food packing will take place in December, but Mifflin says they will be a new location this year.

"We are no longer out of Guspro," he says. "We rely upon locations for free and of course that place has sold. So we are now at the former Fabricland, which is at 463 St. Clair St."

The Goodfellows Porchlight Campaign is set for Monday, December 4, while Street Sales will happen Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16.
