CK OPP Hosting "Haunted Halloween" Sunday

Chatham-Kent OPP are teaming up with local municipal police and emergency services personnel to host an afternoon of Halloween fun for C-K residents.

United Sirens of Chatham-Kent along with the Shop with a Cop committee are holding their second annual "Haunted Halloween" at the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment at 535 Park Ave. E. on Sunday from 11am to 2pm.

The event is open to kids aged 0-12 and includes pumpkin carving, Halloween movies and activities, a child-friendly haunted house, emergency vehicle display, and a hot dog BBQ.

During the event, police will also have a chance to share some safety messages with the kids who show up.

"Halloween is a cherished tradition, but the excitement of the night can certainly cause children to forget how to be careful," says CK OPP Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Dean Croker. "Safety starts even before the children go out. We would like to remind parents and children of the importance of being safe."
