Workforce WindsorEssex is making it easy to choose a career path.
The company put together career profiles for 76 jobs that are currently in high demand in Windsor-Essex.
"Each job on this list includes a career pathway, not only marking out all the information about how to land this job and what the requirements are but what a complete career might look like," says Workforce WindsorEssex Doug Sartori.
The tool was created to help connect students and new comers to current job opportunities and fix the current skills gap in the region.
"The breadth of jobs that are needed in our economy is what was surprising. What wasn't surprising was the number of skilled trade jobs that are in demand," says Sartori.
The Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce estimates one in two employers have job openings they can't find the right people for. President Matt Marchand says that's a loss of $600-million in the Windsor-Essex economy.
