West Nile Virus Found In CK

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit is reporting that two mosquito traps in east Chatham and Ridgetown tested positive for West Nile Virus this summer.

Officials says larviciding was immediately done at the surrounding catch basins.

In July, 835 catch basins in east Chatham were treated while 508 were treated in Ridgetown in August.

There are no reports of humans being affected by West Nile Virus in Chatham-Kent.

Three people died this summer from West Nile Virus in Windsor-Essex.
