A Chatham-Kent police officer who pleaded guilty to one count of fraud Monday afternoon will learn the punishment for his crime in the new year.
Monday's guilty plea for Sergeant Robert Mugridge follows a police services act hearing in February where he was found guilty of 50 counts of discreditable conduct in connection with loans he had solicited from friends, family, and co-workers.
Mugridge was previously charged with 51 criminal counts of fraud, each over $5,000.
He has been suspended with pay since May 2014.
