Viewing parties may have trouble catching a glimpse of Monday's solar eclipse with cloud cover in the forecast for Southwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Hai Zhen Sun says the weather agency is uncertain whether clouds will cover the eclipse during its peak period, which astrologists estimate to be around 2:30pm.
"Monday will be a mix of sun and cloud. Mostly likely in the morning, you will see some clouds come in and then there's a chance of showers. Then afterwards, you'll see some sun, and in the late afternoon you will see some clouds again," explains Sun.
Sun says the weather is expected to cool down on Monday as well.
"There is a weak cold front passing through late afternoon, so you may see some showers and thunderstorms," adds Sun.
Sun says "if you are lucky, you will see the eclipse."
If you are planning to view the eclipse, you should be wearing protective eclipse viewers in order to properly protect your eyes.
