UPDATE: 4,000 Pigs Perish In Warwick Barn Fire (VIDEO & GALLERY)

Damage is expected to surpass $1-million following a pig barn fire in Warwick Township Wednesday night.

Watford Fire Chief Rick Sitlington says the cement barn in the 5500-block of Arkona Rd. was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene around 8pm. He says five other fire departments were called in for mutual aid.

Chief Sitlington says about 4,000 pigs were lost in the blaze and the barn was destroyed.

"There's nothing left, all that's left is a cement wall and it's going to be pretty hard to trace down the exact cause," says Sitlington.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office was called for consultation and says the fire has been deemed non-suspicious in nature.
